Article 1
Students eligible for admission to the Master’s Program of this Department include those who pass the departmental recommendation-based admission or entrance examination, as well as international students approved by the Ministry of Education who pass the Department’s selection process. Admission procedures shall be governed by separate regulations.
Article 2
After enrollment and prior to thesis writing, graduate students must complete the following requirements:
1. A thesis advisor shall be confirmed, and a thesis topic determined before the end of the first academic year.
2. A thesis proposal presentation shall be passed no later than the fourth semester. Relevant procedures shall be prescribed separately.
Article 3
Graduate courses are classified into three categories:
1. Core required courses
2. Specialized required courses
3. Elective courses
Article 4
During the first academic year, course selection and related matters shall be supervised by the graduate program advisor. From the second academic year onward, supervision shall be undertaken by the thesis advisor.
Article 5
The duration of study for Master’s students shall be between one and four years.
Students admitted from junior colleges shall complete a minimum of two years of study. Graduate students serving as teaching assistants at the University shall complete a minimum of three years of study, with a maximum of four years.
Article 6
Graduate students shall complete a minimum of 28 credits. Thesis credits (3 credits) shall be counted separately. This provision shall take effect from Academic Year 2025 onward.
Article 7
The maximum course load per semester shall be 10 credits, and the minimum shall be 3 credits. From the second semester of the second academic year onward, the minimum credit requirement shall not apply.
Article 8
Credits taken from graduate courses offered by other departments shall not exceed 6 credits in total.
Article 9
The passing grade for graduate courses shall be 70 out of 100.
Failed required courses shall be retaken.
Article 10
Master’s degree examinations shall, in principle, be conducted orally and shall be applied for in accordance with university regulations.
Prior to the oral examination and completion of graduation procedures, students shall submit a final thesis originality report generated by an approved plagiarism detection system. Excluding quotations, references, table of contents, and appendices, the similarity index shall not exceed 20%. The thesis shall be reviewed and confirmed by the thesis advisor with respect to its originality. Where the similarity index exceeds the prescribed threshold, a written explanation shall be provided and approved by the advisor.
Detailed procedures governing the master’s thesis examination shall be prescribed separately.
Article 11
Graduate students shall be subject to dismissal from the program under any of the following circumstances:
1. Failure to complete required courses and credits within four academic years.
2. Failure in the Master’s degree examination without eligibility for a retake, or failure upon retaking the examination.
Article 12
Matters not specified in these Regulations shall be governed by relevant University regulations.
Article 13
These regulations shall take effect upon approval by the Department Affairs Meeting. The same procedure shall apply to any amendments.
