Methods adopted in the research include secondary document analysis, in-depth interview and participant observation. Followed by compiling Taiwan’s reports and studies related to the sexual rights of people with disabilities, examining Hand Angel’s meeting minutes over the years and interviewing relevant staff, the study, through comparing and verifying the mentioned information, further explores the organization’s social dialogues and changes in its development process.
The thesis indicated that Hand Angel attaches great importance to the needs and desires of people with disabilities and uses sexuality as a means of advocacy, expecting the public to take sexual rights as a starting point to face up to the various rights and welfare of people with disabilities. In addition, the organization absorbs knowledge of life experience from people with disabilities and teams up with them to advocate for sexual rights in the process of providing services.
