本研究使用半結構式的深度訪談法,以負責外勤採訪的記者作為研究對象,並輔以長期的田野觀察資料,探討記者選擇新聞中可能呈現的社會過程,證明記者在新聞場域中所面對的侷限以及所能展現的能動性,並且以認知社會學作為研究的重要理論,著重找出行動者工作的形式。
本研究將多元邏輯分為新聞專業邏輯、新聞競爭邏輯、個人價值邏輯、人際互動邏輯、企業組織邏輯、商業經濟邏輯、社會趨勢邏輯、媒介屬性邏輯八種邏輯。研究發現,多元邏輯使得記者必須在多重因素層疊交織之下做出新聞選擇,在記者職業所形成的視野團體中,視野團體決定了記者的視野範圍,只有在視野範圍中事物才會被「看見」,在已經被看見的事物中,記者進一步找出「重要」的部份,最後才會在重要的事物之中找出「重點」,使得整個事件成為新聞,同時記者也經常透過策略性行為,調動所欲報導的事物與角度,以遂行自我意志。此外,記者的認知態度也會影響到邏輯排序的類型,最後要做出邏輯優劣的選擇,則是依賴記者的身分認同做出決定,也就是說,多元邏輯排序並沒有優劣之分,而是取決於行動者「想成為什麼樣的記者」,並在適當的時候選擇適當的邏輯優位,有助於記者建立身分認同。

In recent years, there has been often of comments such as " low-quality news. ", " meaningless information " , and so on in the internet discussion forum. This means that the audiences’s reflexivity is gradually increasing, exploring what becomes "news" is enough to become an important concern for contemporary society. however, news production is a process of tessellation, in which various choices are made. therefore, this study attempts to explore how journalists select meaningful parts to report in the infinite social world.
This research divides multiple logics into eight kinds of logics: news specialty logic, news competition logic, personal value logic, interpersonal interaction logic, enterprise organization logic, business economic logic, social trend logic, and media attribute logic.
This study finds that multiple logics make journalists have to make news choices under multiple factors. In the optical community formed by the profession, the optical community determines the journalists 's view. Only in the field of view can things be "seen". Among the things that have been seen, the journalists then finds the " relevant " part. Finally, among the important things, the " figure " will be found, and the whole thing will become news. At the same time, in order to achieve what they want, journalists often use strategic behaviors to maneuver the things they want to report and their perceptions.
