Since 2007, the Ministry of Education has launched the Star Project channel, students’ high school scores became the main university admission indicator. Therefore, more and more non-elite high school students enter the ideal university. Most of the past research point out that if students entered the university through the Star Project channel, they could achieve academic excellence. As a consequence, did elite high school students still achieve academic excellence in the university? In other words, did Star Project bridge the gap between elite and non-elite high school students’ achievement? To answer this research question, this study use students’ information about achievement and background of National Taipei University (NTPU) in 2001, 2003-2015. There are two main findings. First, graduated from elite high school students’ academic performance was no longer advantage in 2006-2010; Non-elite high school student’s PR value of academic performance was better than elite students in 2010-2015. Second, Star Project is the main reason why elite high school students’ academic performance is no longer advantage.
