社會資本、文化資本對學生學業成就的影響—東南亞裔子女和本地家庭子女的比較

本研究旨在瞭解東南亞裔新移民女性之子女之家庭背景、社會資本與文化資本對學業成就的影響。研究對象為東南亞裔新移民家庭,並透過具有與新移民女性之配偶相同教育背景的本地家庭作為對照,共1542個家庭樣本。將問卷結果以描述性統計、皮爾森積差相關分析及多迴歸分析等方法進行統計分析處理。

本研究結果如下:

一、東南亞裔之子女,僅緬甸籍對學業成就有負向顯著影響。

二、女生的學業成就優於男生。

三、在社會資本方面,母親對子女的期望,會影響子女的學業成就;師生關係愈好,互動愈佳,學生學業成就愈佳。

四、而文化資本方面,文化活動的參與僅對國語成就有影響。

五、母親為緬甸籍之子女,透過社會資本、文化資本中介變項的影響後,對學業成就仍具有負向顯著影響力。

Based on a sampling survey of totally 1, 452 sample, the aim of this study attempts to understand the impact of Taiwan's Southeast Asian new immigrant women schoolchildren’s background, social capital and cultural capital on their academic achievement. The subjects are Southeast Asian new immigrant women families with Taiwanese local spouses with the same educational background as a contrast group. Statistical methods such as descriptive statistics, Pearson correlations and multiple regression analysis are employed in the study.

The results of this study are as follows:

1. Comparing to Taiwanese local family’s schoolchildren’s academic achievement, only Burmese new immigrant women schoolchildren's academic achievement has a significant negative impacts.

2. The academic achievement performance of girls are superior to that of boys.

3. In terms of social capital, the mother’s expectations will affect academic achievement of their children; that is, the better teacher-student relationship is , the better their academic achievement and, the better teacher-student interaction is, the better their academic achievement.

4. In terms of cultural capital, elementary schoolchildren’s participation in cultural activities only influences their achievement of Mandarin.

5. Through both social capital and cultural capital of intervening variables, Burmese new immigrant women schoolchildren's academic achievement performance are still lower than others.
