Aiming the aged people living at the public nursing homes, this study explores life attitude, life demand and life satisfaction of the aged people, and studies the influence factors on the life satisfaction. The study will help the nursing homes understand life demand of the aged and the interrelations among life attitude, life demand and life satisfaction. As a reference of this study, the nursing homes may program the living space and develop service for the aged people. Hereafter they may enjoy their twilight years at their nursing homes.
The study shows that the aged people living at public nursing homes commonly tend to have positive thinking on life attitude. They are not shy to talk about the topic of death with people. Their expectations of life demands are financial supports from their families, relatives and friends. The aged people are satisfied with their nursing homes, especially with high satisfaction at the management, guidance and assistance in life. However, meals gain the lowest satisfaction rate. In addition, aged people in good health condition keep close contacts with their children and live longer at the nursing homes. They are in higher satisfaction with life attitude. The more demands on life they have, the more life satisfaction with fulfillment they have.
