警察工作人格

    犯罪學家通常使用警察次文化( police subculture )來描述警察工作態度、信仰及人格特質等。警察由於工作本質的特殊性,他們必須執行法律,介入那些違反法律的人或事,此外,他們也必須提供民眾各種安全保護。由於工作本質充斥著各種的危險與衝突,致使警察發展出異於一般職業團體之信仰、價值與行為。本研究嘗試瞭解台灣警察工作特性如何導致他們特有的警察工作人格,研究方法採問卷調查,我們實施了600份問卷,回收並有效的問卷為492份。本研究側重在測試警察的「犬儒工作人格」,主要是由犬儒工作人格中的「自私」、「懷疑」、「悲觀」、「陽奉陰違」以及「推卸逃避」五個面向所組成。在自私人格分組中,以中高度自私人格者為最多,占62.8%;在懷疑人格分組中,以中高度懷疑人格者為最多,達61.7%;在悲觀人格分組中,以中度悲觀人格者為最多,占61.0%;在陽奉陰違人格分組中,以中高度陽奉陰違人格者為最多,占53.7%;在推卸逃避人格分組中,以中高度推卸逃避人格者為最多,占56.7%。此外,研究發現警察人員的背景因素(年齡、年資、婚姻、工作屬性、配階),確實影響了警察工作人格中之「推卸逃避人格」,而警察的「自私工作人格」僅在工作年資上達到顯著差異。研究並針對警察人員工作適應與警察人員間之溝通、互動影響警察工作人格方面作分析。本研究針對相關研究發現,提出多項具體建議,期可供警政單位制訂政策之參考。

    Normally, Criminologists use the police sub-culture to describe the police working status, belief and personality. Police officers have to enforce the law or even intervene in people or things according to different working situations. Besides, they have to provide many protection methods for people. Since the working itself has many dangerous and conflicts, it develops into varied and professional groups beliefs, values and behaviors.

    This research has tried to understand the police work and how it causes the police personality in Taiwan. The research method uses the filled up questionnaire. We provide 600 copies of questionnaires and receive 492 reliable copies. This research focuses on testing the police sub-culture personality. The reason is the police sub-culture personality combine selfish, suspicious, pessimistic, counterfeit, and escapee. During the selfish personality, it has 62.8% middle or even higher personality. During the suspicious, it has 61.7% middle or even higher personality. In pessimistic area, it has 61.0% middle personality. In counterfeit area, it has 53.7% middle or even higher personality. During the escapee, it has 56.7% middle or even higher personality.

    This research also finds that the police backgrounds (age, working years, marriage, working manners, and grade) indeed influence the police working personality of escapee. The so-called selfish working personality only finds in the working years. Meanwhile, this research analyzes on the police working adjustment, the communication and interaction between the police officers.

    The research finds many problems and provides many solid suggestions to help the police administration about the police policy creation.
