Graduation Process

1. Deadline for application for the thesis examination: One month before the date of the oral examination, you must submit two copies of the application form for the thesis examination, filling in the title of the thesis and the information of each member of the oral examination committee (since the administrative procedure takes about one week, it is recommended to submit the application five weeks before the oral examination). According to the university's regulations, the oral examinations for the first semester are held from mid-November to January 31 of the following year, and the oral examinations for the second semester are held from the end of April to July 31 of each year.

2. The first draft of the thesis should be sent to the oral examiners two weeks before the oral exam. The departmental office will keep a centralized remittance register for the oral examination members' fees. The wire transfer should be sent to the Secretary of the Department, Tsai-Wei Chu, one week before the oral examination. After the oral examination, you must finish revising the first draft of your thesis and get the approval of your advisor before you can apply for the exit procedure. The procedure must be completed one week before the start of the next semester. Before applying for the thesis examination, you must study on the website of the Taiwan Academic Ethics Education Resource Center and pass the general test to obtain proof of attendance before applying.

3. Qualification Restrictions: A graduate student shall be withdrawn from the program if any of the following circumstances apply: (a) The student has not completed all the required subjects and credits by the end of the fourth year of study. (b) Failure to pass the degree examination, or failure to pass the retest after meeting the retest requirement. A graduate student's academic grade is 70 points for a passing grade and 100 points for a perfect grade.

4. Commonly used forms: The forms required for the graduation process and the notes for the oral examination of the thesis can be found on the department's website at: http://sociology.ntpu.edu.tw
